I have been practicing massage for more than 13 years. My training
is through the Massage Therapy Training Institute, and I
have continued to take classes each year in different modalities
to be able to offer
more to the people that come to see me. Using this knowledge,
I am able to customize each session to alleviate and ease
my clients’
problems through the healing power of massage.
I may be reached in Overland Park, KS, by phone: (913) 302
– 7438
Here are the main types of massage that I offer:
Swedish – This massage is a manual manipulation of the soft
tissue by methodical pressure, stroking, friction, kneading,
and compressive movement. It stimulates
or tones the body, affecting not only the skin but also the musculoskeletal
system and the circulation system. Massage brings renewed
strength and vigor to muscles,
nerves and organs which are suffering from the stress and strain of today’s
living.
Muscle Release Technique – This is a unique injury therapy that combines
compression, extension, movement and breath to give the therapist a tool
to provide, in many
cases, relief from pain in one treatment. With the Muscle Release Technique
scar tissue is broken up, the muscle is lengthened, muscle memory is
restored and
relief from pain started immediately. Some of the areas this helps are:
plantar fasciitis, chronic low back, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome,
frozen shoulder
and migraine headaches.
Craniosacral Therapy – This is a gentle method of detection
and correction that encourages your own natural healing mechanisms
to dissipate the
negative effects
of stress on your central nervous system. You also benefit from better
overall health and resistance to disease. Some of the areas this helps
are chronic fatigue,
chronic neck and back pain, scoliosis, emotional difficulties and stress
and tension related problems.
Deep Tissue Massage – This technique focuses on the deeper layers of
muscle tissue. It is used to release chronic muscle tension in the
muscles. It usually is concentrated
on more specific areas that are experiencing tension or injury. There
may be some soreness duringor right after the massage because you are
releasing toxins
that have built up in the muscle. Drinking plenty of water helps eliminate
some of the soreness.
